NOTE: If you want less pH but keep all of the other good stuff, the REMIN Ca is your answer.
What’s the Problem? Many people now understand there is more to healthy water than just making it as clean as possible. Reverse osmosis systems provide a very capable and affordable way to remove high levels of the thousands of toxins found in our water. Unfortunately, they also remove the necessary minerals and can be harmful to our bodies over the long-term.
Fortunately, there is now a way to keep the outstanding filtration and put the healthy minerals back in.
Mineralization: The Vitev Mineral Mix used in the REMIN is formulated especially for harsh, RO water. We don’t use powders made from cheap ingredients meant for city water treatment instead of human consumption and which dissolve way too fast. Things like calcite and corosex. Our minerals are designed for a long-lasting slow release and the REMIN uses a blend of the following:
- 99.9% pure metallic/elemental Magnesium - Adds this vital mineral to the water and also reacts with the water to create the antioxidant/ionizing benefits. (more on this later)
- Coral Calcium - The only coral in the world to earn the Eco-Safe certification. It’s harvested from the Caribbean where they use an above-the-sea technique (think of it like cutting the grass) and is a composite of 70+ additional trace minerals.
- Infrared ceramics and tourmaline - They help soften the surface tension, improve taste and increase drinkability. It’s really hard to explain, but when we removed these 2 from the blend, the water just didn’t taste or feel as good.
Our mineral blend rejuvenates the water through the reaction of the water and the magnesium. This ionizing reaction gives a negative charge to the water (measured as -ORP) and an antioxidant benefit to our body in the form of free electrons and molecular hydrogen. Without this reaction, the water is dead and actually classified as an oxidant within the water treatment industry. Oxidation is what breaks down living organisms, which means we’d rather not consume more of it than necessary.
Hydrating and Better Taste: You’ll notice this right away. RO water can have a stale taste, sometimes even a bit off. The REMIN will make your water taste better as well as anything you use it in. Soups, coffee, teas, etc all have a deeper flavor.
You’ll also notice how much easier it is to drink. No more full and sloshy feelings. With our mineral blend, you’ll feel fine even if you down an entire glass. It’s more hydrating at the cellular level and it helps the body flush toxins much quicker. Good in and bad out.
Safety MattersWe take great care to ensure the ingredients we use are of the highest quality. As we said above, the coral calcium is the only one in the world to receive the eco-safe designation. Our other minerals are also super clean as you can see from this soak test we had Pace Laboratory conduct. They took our mineral blend and soaked it in water 6 hours. After which they checked for a long list of toxins under the most stringent California Prop-65 standards.
You can be confident nothing harmful is going back into your water.

Will it work with my RO?The short answer is YES! The REMIN is compatible with any RO system, it’s just a matter of where it will be positioned and spliced in. If your RO is one with proprietary filters, hidden connections and tubing or just generally hard to access and make any adjustments to (this style is becoming much more popular), then you’ll place the REMIN on the tubing that connects to the faucet. Use the included single clip and mount the REMIN horizontally.
If your RO allows access to tubing, the membrane, filters, etc then you can probably connect the REMIN prior to the tank. You’ll place it after the membrane and before the valve that splits water to the tank and faucet. Use the included double clip and mount the REMIN horizontally on top of the membrane.
The filter spits a lot of air for the first week but after that it mostly goes away. Other than that, a great filter that adds great taste and many health benefits! Customer support has been very helpful as well!
We have used an R/O filter for our drinking water for years, but recently learned about the benefits of alkaline water. A PH test did confirm that we were drinking acid water and this filter did increase the PH. I am not sure what the minerals will do to our coffee and ice maker long term but for now the only downside is the air issue the PH filter causes.
Thank you for taking the time to review your new REMIN. Not only does the REMN naturally increase the alkalinity of your RO water, it also comprehensively remineralizes the water with bioavailable calcium, pure elemental magnesium, and trace minerals. While also introducing the beneficial hydrogen antioxidants into the water.
The added minerals will also have a positive impact on your coffee maker and the resulting taste. We use RO + REMIN for our own systems, and have received plenty of positive feedback from those feeding fridges and coffee makers over the years. Including high-end espresso machines that require water containing minerals (for better taste + to avoid corrosion), yet is still relatively soft. The REMIN-treated RO water really hits that sweet spot.
The reaction between the pure RO water and fresh minerals is incredibly efficient right off the start, often causing strong air pressure from the faucet and even cloudy water. Thankfully there is no reason to be alarmed. In fact, it is the healthiest water you will drink from your RO system. This initial reaction is completely safe, stemming from beneficial concentrations of minerals and hydrogen gas antioxidants added into the water. This is normally a great indicator for hydration performance and expected filter longevity. The strong reaction should dissipate quickly with usage as the new mineral cartridge breaks in and the reaction settles down.
Please follow up with us if there is anything we can help you with along the way, and keep hydrated :)
I only recently discovered that you could remineralize your RO water. After some research I chose Vitev and I must say the quality of water is outstanding.
After reading the benefits and tasting the first remineralized glassful of water, it was everything promised. Water tasted more refreshing; smoother; no odor or peculiar taste from the RO. In 11 months, I noticed less appeal and sure enough, with a fresh filter, all that pleasure in drinking water returned!
Its good excepts for it squirts water all over when first time you turn it on.
Thank you for your review! We appreciate your feedback on the new REMIN cartridge, and we hope you continue to enjoy your mineralized RO water more and more as the reaction settles down in the days and weeks ahead. If the pressure is an issue in the meantime, we can recommend flushing the tank through another 1-2 times and using the system a lot over the next several days (while drinking a lot of water!) to speed up this process.
The mineralization reaction is incredibly efficient early on, which can result in air pressure, strong tastes and even cloudy water. Thankfully, this produces the healthiest water you will drink from your RO system. The pressure and cloudiness are completely safe, and stem from beneficial concentrations of hydrogen antioxidants added into the water. Moreover, a strong initial reaction is a great sign for the filters' longevity and performance going forward.

I've installed the REMIN it the results lived up to my expectations and beyond. the pH is very alkaline and the ORP readings are well into the negative ions territory which means the water are antioxidant and hydrogen enriched. best of all, the kids love it and can't get enough of it. it tastes great! highly recommended.
I don't know how they do it, but it really increased the PH of the water to the advertised 9.5 level. Actually, if you catch the first water after it has been sitting for a little while in the cartridge the PH was measured at 10+! The taste is good. I have no complaints. The only downside is that it does have a lot of pressure build up in the faucet. It's not a bother if you know it, but maybe a design challenge for the developers. There must be some way to build in a slow release of that buildup, but that might not be cost-effective. When the water has sat awhile in a cartridge that is new it does come out a bit white in color from (what I assume) are the high number of minerals. It says this is safe to drink, but it does taste a bit strong. You can just let it run for a few seconds if you don't like it. The only thing I didn't like was that it shipped with only one bracket to wall mount it. It ended up being ok, but in my case I could definitely benefit from two so it feels a bit more stable. I feel for the price they should include the two they show in the videos.
First time RO user because we have to have a softener due to the extreme hardness of the water in our country place. I researched remineralization to death wanting only the healthiest and found this product. I have the regular Remin not the extra alkaline version. Installed fine according to husband. Water tasted disappointingly like sharp bitter RO water initially, maybe slightly better than but I have sensitive taste. It also gave massive, massive explosive sounds when turning on spigot...I thought a line would blow!! Turn it on slowwwwly at first. Also the water was crazy crazy slow but we persevered because people said it got better after a month. It's been about three weeks now, and the major explosions are gone. If the water hasn't been used.overnight you might get some extra blurping minor bubbling. The water tastes really nice and smooth now. Maybe the filter has to be broken in? I noticed that previously in our other home, when I would leave my gravity filtered city water overnight or standing for a while or many hours in a closed water bottle, or in a hot car, it would taste a bit off, or stale, but this stays perfect tasting. I'm never tasted perfect tasting warm water from a glass water bottle sitting in 93F exterior temp car in a parking lot. The speed is still slow but my husband says our RO system is a tankless one to reduce bacteria growth risk in tank so it is slow itself. Not sure how or if the filter makes it slower but I figure it can take a little.longer to fill a glass or a pot (forever) to get nice quality, beautiful tasting water, when pioneers had to hand dig a well, dip water up with a bucket, haul it with a rope and carry it inside, and it probably was not that great all in all and def wasn't filtered. I tested the ph with a water test kit and it said 7.0. I tested my well water from the tap and it is a 8.0. I may even try the next step up filter for even more alkalinity. I thought this one might bring it to an 8 since it was suggested on this site so I stuck with the basic one, but maybe the next step up would only bring this to an 8 which is my natural tap well water anyways. Sorry for the long review but hope it helps someone understand what they are buying and what our experience was from first swigs to few weeks in. It makes nice tasting tea too :)
Thank you for posting such a thoughtfully detailed review of the new REMIN Ca cartridge. We really appreciate your feedback, and we hope you are keeping well-hydrated with your RO system!
Not only is it quite common for a new mineral cartridge to produce air pressure at the faucet, but that also actually indicates the cartridge is working well. The reaction between the pure RO water and fresh minerals is incredibly efficient right off the start, often causing strong tastes, air pressure from the faucet, and even cloudy water. Thankfully, there is no reason to worry about that with respect to the quality of your water. In fact, it is the healthiest water you will drink from your RO system. The pressure is completely safe, stemming from beneficial concentrations of hydrogen antioxidants added into the water.
It sounds like you experienced a particularly strong reaction this time around, which is typically a great indicator for hydration performance and filter longevity. The strong early reaction will dissipate quickly with usage as the mineral cartridge breaks in and the reaction settles down in the days and weeks ahead. If the pressure is an issue early on, we can suggest flushing the storage tank through again and using the system a lot over the next several days to speed up this process. However, we recommend taking advantage of the outstanding mineralization performance by drinking lots of water in the meantime :)
Is it possible you used pH strips to test the water? Strips are a great way to test the pH of pool/fish tank water or bodily fluids like saliva or urine, for which they are specifically designed to test. However, they do not work properly with alkaline drinking water, as the water does not have near the mineral concentrations of those fluids. The results with alkaline drinking water are extremely unreliable and inconsistent, as strips cannot accurately gauge the highly alkaline pH values without those excessive mineral concentrations.
For proper testing, we recommend using pH test drops. Drops are an affordable way to mirror the results of the most accurate testing method, an electronic pH meter. Check out this article (and video within) for more detailed info on the differences between strips and drops: https://vitev.com/blogs/learning-center/ph-drops-vs-strips.
