First time RO user because we have to have a softener due to the extreme hardness of the water in our country place. I researched remineralization to death wanting only the healthiest and found this product. I have the regular Remin not the extra alkaline version. Installed fine according to husband. Water tasted disappointingly like sharp bitter RO water initially, maybe slightly better than but I have sensitive taste. It also gave massive, massive explosive sounds when turning on spigot...I thought a line would blow!! Turn it on slowwwwly at first. Also the water was crazy crazy slow but we persevered because people said it got better after a month. It's been about three weeks now, and the major explosions are gone. If the water hasn't been used.overnight you might get some extra blurping minor bubbling. The water tastes really nice and smooth now. Maybe the filter has to be broken in? I noticed that previously in our other home, when I would leave my gravity filtered city water overnight or standing for a while or many hours in a closed water bottle, or in a hot car, it would taste a bit off, or stale, but this stays perfect tasting. I'm never tasted perfect tasting warm water from a glass water bottle sitting in 93F exterior temp car in a parking lot. The speed is still slow but my husband says our RO system is a tankless one to reduce bacteria growth risk in tank so it is slow itself. Not sure how or if the filter makes it slower but I figure it can take a little.longer to fill a glass or a pot (forever) to get nice quality, beautiful tasting water, when pioneers had to hand dig a well, dip water up with a bucket, haul it with a rope and carry it inside, and it probably was not that great all in all and def wasn't filtered. I tested the ph with a water test kit and it said 7.0. I tested my well water from the tap and it is a 8.0. I may even try the next step up filter for even more alkalinity. I thought this one might bring it to an 8 since it was suggested on this site so I stuck with the basic one, but maybe the next step up would only bring this to an 8 which is my natural tap well water anyways. Sorry for the long review but hope it helps someone understand what they are buying and what our experience was from first swigs to few weeks in. It makes nice tasting tea too :)
Thank you for posting such a thoughtfully detailed review of the new REMIN Ca cartridge. We really appreciate your feedback, and we hope you are keeping well-hydrated with your RO system!
Not only is it quite common for a new mineral cartridge to produce air pressure at the faucet, but that also actually indicates the cartridge is working well. The reaction between the pure RO water and fresh minerals is incredibly efficient right off the start, often causing strong tastes, air pressure from the faucet, and even cloudy water. Thankfully, there is no reason to worry about that with respect to the quality of your water. In fact, it is the healthiest water you will drink from your RO system. The pressure is completely safe, stemming from beneficial concentrations of hydrogen antioxidants added into the water.
It sounds like you experienced a particularly strong reaction this time around, which is typically a great indicator for hydration performance and filter longevity. The strong early reaction will dissipate quickly with usage as the mineral cartridge breaks in and the reaction settles down in the days and weeks ahead. If the pressure is an issue early on, we can suggest flushing the storage tank through again and using the system a lot over the next several days to speed up this process. However, we recommend taking advantage of the outstanding mineralization performance by drinking lots of water in the meantime :)
Is it possible you used pH strips to test the water? Strips are a great way to test the pH of pool/fish tank water or bodily fluids like saliva or urine, for which they are specifically designed to test. However, they do not work properly with alkaline drinking water, as the water does not have near the mineral concentrations of those fluids. The results with alkaline drinking water are extremely unreliable and inconsistent, as strips cannot accurately gauge the highly alkaline pH values without those excessive mineral concentrations.
For proper testing, we recommend using pH test drops. Drops are an affordable way to mirror the results of the most accurate testing method, an electronic pH meter. Check out this article (and video within) for more detailed info on the differences between strips and drops: https://vitev.com/blogs/learning-center/ph-drops-vs-strips.

Works ok. The only thing is the build up of air in the line after the filter to the faucet. After not using for a while. The faucet lets out a huge burst of air. But besides that. Great taste and ph
Thank you for your review of the Vitev REMIN pH. We appreciate your feedback on the mineral cartridge, and we hope you are keeping well-hydrated!
The reaction between the pure RO water and fresh minerals is incredibly efficient with a brand new REMIN cartridge, which can result in air pressure from the faucet before the reaction settles down. You may also notice some cloudiness in the water early on, given the completely safe yet plentiful concentrations of hydrogen antioxidants in the water with a new cartridge.
This dissipates quickly with usage in the days and weeks following a filter change as the mineralization reaction settles down, and you can help the process along by flushing an extra 1-2 fill-ups of the RO tank. However, we recommend taking advantage of the outstanding mineralization performance by drinking lots of water in the meantime :)

Company is very responsive & helpful to all enquiries. I had an iSpring R500 so I tubed this cartridge up & just laid it on top of the unit. It takes a few minutes to install no matter your method & I’m happy to be drinking much healthier, tastier water.
I could tell straight away the Remin filter improved the taste of the RO water. The only negative that I’m working through right now during breakin is the amount of air produced. Be ready for the need to bleed this off or you will find the water outside the cup. I anticipate that this will diminish over time which would lead me to rate this filter 5 stars. Thank you!!
it was easy to install and we could tell an immediate difference in the taste and feel of our water. Thanks for making such an easy and desired product.
Excellent customer service! Very happy with product. We connected it by the 2nd chart. Checked PH level - was around 9.5
I’m so thankful I found this company, I run a apec ctop for my apartment and I knew that RO water literally removes everything from the water, after hearing the parent company considers humans should get their minerals from food I started looking elsewhere.
After getting this hooked up, membrane successfully down to 5ppm, taking a post remin measurement from 30 to 60 ppm! Of real minerals and ph changes...this is the first time I’ve ever had 9.0 ph water... I’m starting to feel much better. I came from a berkey with 236ppm tds. The easiest way to explain the taste: I’ve never tasted water that tasted like nothing. It’s extremely smooth, with tap I actually have a super difficult time swallowing and keeping it in my body. I literally drank 1.5 gallons today and only went to the bathroom a couple of times.. with the berkey if I had done that it would be 6 times. My body is now retaining water and it seems I’m going through a ph change.
Overall, I’m really happy with this and really satisfied its on auto ship I plan on putting a pump on mine, it’s super important you keep the water coming out as light on the flow as possible. I’ll probably get myself a 30gpd restrictor
My unit generates 100 gpd, 2x typical RO systems. After installation of the filter and tank flush/refill, TDS increased from 35 ppm to 212 ppm, pH increased from 6.1 to 8.3. Molecular hydrogen levels were 0.5 ppm with Trustlex meter and H2 Blue drops. Considering my permeate flow is 2x the recommended (due to the larger RO unit) the results are impressive. I would expect 0.75-1 ppm at slower permeate flow.Even more impressive is the hydrogen levels remained the same overnight. I have tested a number of filters and this in the only one to generate hydrogen using H2 Blue. The hydrogen level is comparable to or better than water ionizers at similar pH levels. I endorse this product without reservations. Great Product!
